Left-hand-drive used Japanese cars are permitted for import in Romania. Other ports in Romania for importing used vehicles from Japan are Port of Mangalia, Port of Midia, and Port of Sulina. DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR IMPORT OF VEHICLES Documents required for importing Japan used cars in Romania are: • Bill of Lading • Purchase invoice (original) • Car documents (original, ownership certificate stating the technical specifications and the Vehicle Identification Number of the car) • Passport (copy) • Registration certificate TAXATION Taxes and duties imposed on the import of Japan used vehicles in Romania are: • 30% tax will be applicable if the used car is being imported from outside the EU. • 22% VAT will be charged.
